Finding Balance at the Edge of Chaos

Invitation

The Conflict Management and Resolution Program, James Cook University invites you to attend a presentation by Ben Freedman, Director of AboutResolution, and Claire Holland, Director of the Conflict Management & Resolution postgraduate program of James Cook University entitled:

Finding Balance at the Edge of Chaos

Ben and Claire will speak about how we do our best work, and engage our best thinking, when we are working on the edge between order and chaos. In complex organisations, hovering around this edge of chaos is all about equilibrium-  too much tension or stress and we can be pushed into the ‘accident zone’ where we lose control over the outcomes of our work, not enough tension and we can quickly disengage. What are the pressures which push teams towards the accident zone? What are the resilience traits which push back and keep us at the ‘edge of chaos’ most of the time? What does this mean for the development of skills and intelligence in complex work environments? This session will take participants on a fast-paced journey through some of the latest thinking on resilience, chaos, complexity, leadership, and emotional intelligence.

This is a must-see for any professional and will count as 1 mandatory CPD point in Practice Management & Business Skills.
