In this role you will have the opportunity to use your excellent complaint handling skills to support the community including consumers and traders in dispute resolution and trader monitoring within the Fair Trading Dispute Resolution team. You will enjoy working on a wide range of matters, providing quality service and information in a high-volume, customer-focused environment.
The main focus of the Dispute Resolution Officer’s role is to manage dispute resolution and trader monitoring processes, and to deliver presentations and participate in programs to raise the community’s awareness of legislation. You will need to actively participate within the team environment, contribute to quality control mechanisms and require a high level of organisational and administrative skills to assist with the implementation of systems and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
To be successful you will need expertise in complaint handling and customer service, including dealing with a variety of customers in a high-volume, customer-focused environment. You will need the demonstrated ability to manage customer expectations and develop knowledge of current Fair Trading legislation and Australian Consumer Law. You must have strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, along with sound judgement. You will also need the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and effectively deliver presentations. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience desirable.
