It has been a busy year so far for the Conflict Management and Resolution Program.
Late last year the Law School was reviewed by an external panel and our CMR program was included as part of that process. Thank you to our students and alumni who participated in interviews and focus groups during the review. Our program received very good feedback from the review committee, which reported that the Master of Conflict Management and Resolution was a “standout program” with great potential for growth, and recommended further strategic resourcing to enable future development.
This year, we have also reviewed our Masters program to ensure compliance with new government regulations, and we are currently going through a major curriculum and assessment review. There are more details below about our new course structure and some exciting new subject choices.
We also welcome Claire Holland as a new staff member. Claire is working on a number of projects including our curriculum review, developing online conflict management resources for students and designing new subjects for next year’s program.
We have had three new PhD students start their studies with us over the past year: Rhonda Emonson, Judith Herrmann and Brett Greenland. We have also had a number of students and graduates who have started work in the CMR field – two are profiled in this newsletter.
